Amilcare had led the association for over 40 years before stepping down from his role in September last year.
He was a figure head of the industry and, among many key accomplishments, he oversaw the successful move of Simac Tanning Tech from Bologna to Milan in 2015, which led to the significant growth of the trade show and its status as key platform for technological innovation for the leather and leather products manufacturing industries.
“It is a huge loss for Assomac”, said Gabriella Marchioni Bocca, President of Assomac, in a statement. “We have not only lost an iconic former Director of the Association, but above all, a great friend, who has always been by our side. It is our heartfelt regret that due to the current coronavirus outbreak, we are unable to attend the funeral. However, he will always stay in our hearts”.
The “Supplier of Sustainable Technologies” project is more than a simple self-declaration regarding sustainability, it is an implementation of Labeling System for the members certified by Third Party Entity.
The compliance with the established procedure allows to present the impact of the system within production process by the international parameter CFP (Carbon Footprint), based on LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) calculation.
ASSOMAC promotes the Green Label, a voluntary tool that aims to identify the performances of a single machine and technology manufactured by associated members.
