THE UNDERSECRETARY SCALFAROTTO VISITS THE ASSOMAC CENTER

With the visit of Undersecretary Ivan Scalfarotto to the Italian-Vietnam Footwear Technology Center in Binh Duong, ended the Mission organized in Vietnam by the Ministry of Economic Development, ICE Agency and Confindustria. The mission, to which ASSOMAC participated with President Gabriella Marchioni Bocca and Mario Pucci, reached Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

In particular, in Hanoi the Inter-Governmental Commission Italy-Vietnam met to discuss the economic relations between the two countries. During the meeting, President Marchioni Bocca illustrated the activity of the Association and its companies in the country, citing the participation of the associated companies at the trade show Shoes & Leather, the cooperation agreement signed in October with the Leather and Shoe Research Institute (LSI) in Hanoi and above all the inauguration of the Italian Footwear Technology Center on 12 July. The Center, created by PISIE, was born thanks to an agreement between ASSOMAC and LEFASO, the Vietnamese Footwear and Tanning Association, thanks to the funding of the Ministry of Economic Development and ICE Agency.

At the ceremony at the Italian Footwear Technology Center, Undersecretary Scalfarotto said that "the visit was the most worthy conclusion of the Mission he led to Vietnam and thanked ASSOMAC for the work done." Equally Michele Scannavini, President of ICE Agency, while President Marchioni Bocca, who accompanied the Italian delegation in his visit to the Center together with Roberto Vago, emphasized in particular the activity of the companies adhering to ASSOMAC in Vietnam.

In conclusion, Undersecretary Ivan Scalfarotto, Ambassador of Italy in Vietnam, Cecilia Piccioni, and President Gabriella Marchioni Bocca handed the Diplomas to participants in the training courses organized in the Center from July to present.

Vietnam is a growing market for Italian productions of footwear, leather goods and tannery machines.
